Process Update
By email, Sharon, the lady who ran the preliminary meeting, confirmed that they are still moving forward with this tower. They do plan to make changes though and will need to hold a new preliminary meeting.
More Info on a Different Tower Stopped
I'm sorry for the delay in answering your question regarding the details of the stopped tower. It was an Orenco neighborhood here in Hillsboro. They were in the process of fighting it when we had our meeting in April and I found out that they were successful at stopping it in July.

A Different Tower Stopped
It was very encouraging to hear
about a Hillsboro
neighborhood that successfully stopped a proposed cell tower. Earlier this year, roughly 75 to 100 people
attended a preliminary meeting regarding an AT&T tower proposed for their
neighborhood. Due to the fact that so
many took time to attend the meeting and share their concerns, the property
owner chose to be a good neighbor and not go forward with the tower. Your voice can make a difference. Please continue to share your concerns about
the tower proposed in our neighborhood!

Correction
My current
understanding is that the application to build a tower on Hubrich’s property
has not been submitted to the city. I’ve
tried to be very careful when talking with the city to specify addresses, but we
still had a communication breakdown. The city received
applications to build towers at 2233 E
Main (Valley Hope Church) and 21555 NW
Amberwood Dr , but the one for 775 SW Brookwood (Hubrich’s) has not been submitted yet. I'm very sorry for the miscommunication!

Application Submitted
The application to install the cell tower has now been submitted to the city. As of Tuesday morning, the application was not considered complete, so this issue has not been assigned a hearing date. The city holds "Planning and Zoning Hearings" on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Civic Center. For more information, please contact the city planning department at 503 681-6153. Now is the time to prepare for the meeting.

While We Wait
As of this morning, Verizon has not yet submitted an
application to install the cell tower at Hubrich Farms. Have you contacted Hubrich Farms yet stating
your position on this issue? I also
recommend that you contact Verizon directly and voice your concern regarding
responsible tower placement. Please
remember to be respectful!
If this moves forward, the city will send out a meeting notice
to those within a 500 foot radius. It is
vital that the neighborhood is prepared and in attendance at that meeting. The city holds Planning and Zoning meetings on
the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Civic Center .
We are watching the applications
deadlines closely and hope to know the date of the meeting even before the city
sends out the notice.

Thank You!
We truly appreciate that you took the time to attend the meeting tonight. Having people present makes an impact! You are welcome to share this web address with other concerned neighbors.
Preliminary Meeting
Please attend the meeting, sign in and voice your concerns.
7pm TONIGHT
Valley Hope Community Church
(with the purple dinosaur slide)
2233 E Main St.
Hillsboro, OR
Meeting minutes and sign in sheet will be submitted to the city when they apply for a permit.
My understanding is that in order for Verizon to move forward with this, they will have to show that this is in the public's best interest, it is needed and that there are not other towers in the area that they can add on to.
If we do not agree with what Verizon says, we can provide public testimony stating the opposing view.
Let's protect our property value!
